The Couple’s Love Story

Known for their infectious laughter and playful energy, Angela and Harris share a bond that radiates happiness. Their wedding reflected their personalities perfectly: cheerful, creative, and filled with thoughtful details and loved ones.

Angela, the owner of Angel and Hare, brought her expertise and artistic flair to the planning and design of the wedding. Her DIY approach added a personal touch to every aspect of the celebration, making it truly one-of-a-kind.

The Vision & Planning

Angela and Harris envisioned a wedding that celebrated spring’s colorful vibrancy while embracing a modern European garden aesthetic. Sage green served as a grounding hue, complemented by a variety of bright spring colors. The result was a cheerful and elegant atmosphere that perfectly suited Café Julia’s timeless architecture.

Knowing the venue’s beauty spoke for itself, Angela chose minimal florals, focusing on arrangements that enhanced the natural charm of the space. Collaborating with her loved ones, she handcrafted all the florals, proving that simplicity and creativity can create magic.

The Venue

Café Julia at Laniakea was the ideal backdrop for Angela and Harris’s wedding. Its European-inspired architecture and serene courtyard provided a picturesque setting for their intimate celebration. The bright spring colors worn by their guests complemented the venue’s soft hues, creating a harmonious blend of elegance and vibrancy.

The Details

Florals and Decor

Angela and her loved ones designed and arranged all the florals for the wedding. With a focus on complementing the venue’s architecture, they used soft blooms in white and pastel tones, accented with greenery. DIY touches, including custom drink tags, personalized fans for guests, and a charming polaroid guestbook, added warmth and character to the day.

Custom and DIY Elements

Angela’s creative talents shone in every corner of the celebration. Guests received custom fans to keep cool during the ceremony, while custom drink tags added a playful and personalized touch to their beverages. A polaroid guestbook allowed guests to capture candid memories, and the second shooter contributed by photographing the venue and wedding details in polaroid format to enhance the keepsake.

Menu and Signage

Angela also crafted the menus and signage, ensuring every detail aligned with the wedding’s aesthetic. Her attention to detail extended to the wedding cake topper, which added a whimsical finishing touch to the dessert table.

The Ceremony

The couple opted for a traditional ceremony without a first look, allowing Harris to see Angela for the first time as she walked down the aisle. The natural beauty of Café Julia’s courtyard, enhanced by minimal floral arrangements, created a serene and romantic setting for their vows.

The Reception

The reception was an intimate affair filled with laughter, toasts, and meaningful moments. Following a Chinese custom, Angela and Harris toasted each table during dinner, ensuring every guest felt cherished and included. With only five tables, this tradition added a personal and heartfelt touch to the evening.

The vibrant colors worn by the guests and the couple’s carefully curated decor made the reception feel like a celebration of spring itself. Late into the evening, guests mingled and laughed, creating memories that Angela and Harris will treasure forever.

Memorable Moments

  • Angela and Harris’s joy was infectious as they toasted each of their tables during dinner, a beautiful nod to Chinese tradition.
  • The polaroid guestbook became a highlight of the evening, capturing candid moments and the couple’s decorative polaroid photos of the venue and wedding details.
  • The custom DIY elements, from the fans to the cake topper, added a personal and charming touch to the celebration.
