Beautiful photographs matter.

But how you feel while they’re being taken matters more.

I approach weddings with a calm presence, a sharp eye, and deep respect for the experience unfolding in front of me. My background in fashion and editorial photography taught me how to shape light, guide naturally, and create images with intention. Weddings taught me when to step back.

The result is a balance of both. Photographs that feel elevated without feeling overdone. Direction when you need it. Space when you don’t.

I’m not interested in turning your wedding into a production. I’m interested in documenting it honestly, beautifully, and in a way that still feels like you years from now.

I KNOW THAT THIS SECTION BELOW LOOKS BLANK, BUT iT ACTUALLY HAS THE COOL TEXT OVERLAY FOR THE CANVAS ABOVE. TO EDIT IT, JUST CLICK THE TEXT, TURN IT BLACK FOR NOW, EDIT IT, THEN TURN IT BACK to WHITE OR LEAVE IT BLACK AND CHOOSE A LIGHTER IMAGE WHERE THAT LADY IS BECAUSE THAT LOOKS REALLY COOl, TOO,. :)

BEHIND
the BRAND

I’m Amari Marie. Photographer. Archivist. Fashion-trained, wedding-devoted.

Before weddings became my full focus, I spent years photographing editorials, campaigns, and studio work. That experience shaped the way I see light, movement, composition, and detail. More importantly, it taught me how to help people feel comfortable in front of a camera.

That matters on a wedding day.

Most couples are not professional models. They want photographs that feel beautiful without feeling stiff, overdirected, or disconnected from the experience itself. My approach is calm, observant, and collaborative. I’ll guide when needed, step back when it matters, and pay attention to the moments you may not even realize are happening.

Over time, my relationship with photography became less about perfection and more about presence. I became drawn to the quiet in between moments. The atmosphere of a room. The pacing of a celebration. The emotion beneath everything happening on the surface.

That balance shapes my work now. Editorial influence paired with emotional honesty. Refined imagery that still feels personal and alive.

At the end of the day, I want you to look back at your photographs and remember more than how everything looked. I want you to remember how it felt to be there.

QUESTIONNAiRE

Still here? Perfect. If we're going to work together, we gotta go a little deeper. Here are my answers to the famously big questions, a la Vanity Fair.

What’s your idea of perfect happiness?
A sunlit terrace, a fully-charged laptop, three unread Vogue issues, and a lifetime ban on the words “Can we hop on a quick call?”

What’s your greatest extravagance?
My shameless devotion to Louis Vuitton — with my prized treasure being the Pochette Félicie.

On what occasion do you lie?
When asked how long a “quick edit” will take.

Which historical figure do you most identify yourself with?
I’ve been told I’d have thrived in Oscar Wilde’s living room, which feels about right.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Humility. You’re allowed to say you’re good at what you do. And preferably how good.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d stop chasing perfection like it was running late to a party.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement is refusing to name it — because the next one should always be greater.

What is your most marked characteristic?
Editorial brain. Rebel heart. Obsessive attention to the shade of white in a brand palette.

What do you most value in your friends?
Emotional precision, wit, spontaneous voice notes, and the willingness to call me out when required.

What’s your secret talent?
Convincing grooms they actually like being photographed.

WORKING with AMARI WAS QUITE EASILY the SINGLE GREATEST EXPERIENCE of OUR ENTIRE WEDDING.
